Golden Trout

Post By: Herf      Posted: 7/15/2019 2:01:56 PM     Points: 138
I know this is not in Colorado but wanted to show some of the trout we caught, but just got back from California where my brother and I completed the California Heritage Trout Challenge. Great time driving around the California country side and catching a few fish. Attached a few pictures of the golden trout we caught.

Beautiful fish, I used to catch ones like pic 1 when I was a kid and lived in California. What part of California were you at ?

Nice. I like the one on pic 3. Isn't pic 1 the same as our Greenback here in Colorado?

AWB. I saw those rings but I thought maybe they were par marks from a young fish. However here is a picture of a "mounted" Golden Trout and it is a little larger. Is this a breed all its own or a product of 2 or three other species? Cool regardless for sure.

Would like to thank everyone for the replies.
To answer a few of the questions:
Bakersfield is where we stayed
There isn't cutthroat trout around for miles

I attached a picture of a small golden that has a lot darker back similar to the picture of the mount.
