I missed the back half of May and the entire month of June due to a somewhat serious foot surgery. Disappointed about missing the chironimid hatch, but it's great to be back on both feet and back on the water. Spinney is filled to the brim, but there aren't a lot of bugs. I saw a few callibaetis and few adult damsels flying around, but no damsels swiming. I took a few quick videos today...

Fish4fun, get at them perch brother. But the trout arenít always that easy. Iíve fished Spinney for years. Iíve also gone home with 1-2 in the net... the perch wouldnít be hard except you canít use bait. However you guys should go target the perch. Iíd love to see them thinned greatly. Eat them perch up ...!
I've caught a couple nice ones in that first bay at the entrance by weed beds. That was about three years ago so you know their in there. The question is how many? Maybe pike fisherman should start using perch lures!
Look at last survey. They are definitely in there! Hopefully the trout will start to eat them also or they will keep on multiplying. 3 -4 in jerkbait should work good for trout. Maybe a small hair jig will work. We will see after next survey if numbers are still going up. Browns should benefit greatly
