The Mile Good Trout Bite from Shore!

40+ yrs since my first trip to the Mile. I try to fish it once a year for trout to grill/smoke. We were fortunate and missed the worst storms/wind. The conditions were actually ideal for Eleven Mile. Bugs were minimal as slight winds and sprinkles knocked them down. Our success came prior to dusk and after dark. With one nice fish in the morning. Fish can be caught shallow in water 5' and less! These trout are feisty and offer a decent tug. Not too many others out as our efforts were on a Sunday eve.

I'm always excited to see what you've been catching ( Trout?) Didn't think you went up the hill. That's some good looking fish!

I was up at Eleven Mile this weekend too. It was a beautiful weekend!

I caught a modest rainbow from the shore, by the eastern-most lot on the north side of the lake.

I was fishing garlic Powerbait with a 1/4 oz egg sinker.

The stars were amazing Friday night, too, once the skies cleared up. Jupiter was in full view. I was also able to see Ganymede (or Calisto) faintly through my binoculars.

Thanks guys!

Sir, I've been fortunate over the years learning some tricks that have produced several big trout from the Mile!

Punch, I love the high country mostly for its incredible nature! The challenge of the Mile has been a long standing tradition!

DT, It's amazing what can be seen in the darkened skies on a New Moon night. I had an experience with a ufo several years ago! It would be difficult to describe in words on line.

I have yet to catch one of the really big fish over 8lbs that swim about!
