Clinton Gulch from shore with flies?

Post By: troutfinder      Posted: 6/17/2019 9:19:26 AM     Points: 51
HI all, I'm desperate for some trout fishing and every one of my streams is flooded, even the usually stable 11 mile canyon. I'm heading to copper area this week to hit the ponds for brookies but even those were uncharacteristically slow last week. I've seen Clinton gulch and heard there are cutts stocked in there but it's big water. just wondering if anyone has experience and knows if there is decent cruising fish activity along the banks that I can reach with a fly rod, or if you'd need long casts and deep lures out there. i'm going anyway but that body of water is way bigger than my usual high country lake so any experience or thoughts are appreciated. thanks

Been a long tine since I fly fished C Gulch. Three of us belly boated it and we did good. Nothing big, 13 inches the largest. I have had some good days ice fishing there
