7 of us got to Miramonte about 8 this morning. I had my wife and my 4 and 10 year old granddaughters on my boat. My FIL, 85, and Becky’s older brother and his wife on the other boat. We trolled flutter spoons and 2.5” tube jigs on my boat. They had cowbells and worms on the other boat. My FIL caught two nice rainbows right off then their trolling motor quit. They trolled with the big motor but it was too fast for cowbells. Out of respect for his dad, who doesn’t own any other tackle, they didn’t try our stuff, even though we offered, and had plenty of extra rods. Not that we were killing it by any means, it took us till one to get our limit. But watching Kenzie, my 4 year old granddaughter catch 4 nice trout on her first ever boat trip was priceless. And to see her older, “seasoned” sis coach her and help her was equally fine and made my Fathers Day another Miramonte highlite. Best depth was 15’ and best speed was 2 mph for the spoons, 1 mph for the tubes. The girls ended with the Miramonte slam with 1 or more of 4 trout species.
