Anyone see the news article about Colorado angler catching Record Lake Trout at Flaming Gorge. COngrats on the great catch and very cool for releasing that beast. Double fins up

Didn't see a whole lot of details, was wondering if he was out with a guide service or not when he caught it

Just gave a length and not a weight. I thought records went off of weight.

CnR records are generally by length and with a witness.

Great catch but the actions of the angler take center stage. Now there's a true sportsman. Not many would have released that fish and given himself or another the opportunity to experience the same thrill. I'm happy for him and I hope he breaks the record again.

I think most people who are able to catch a Laker like that would return it to the lake. It would be pretty extraordinary for some random meat hunting scrub to catch something like that.
