Fish: Largemouth Bass

Slow Day With One Good Largie

Post By: bharper      Posted: 6/11/2019 7:16:20 PM     Points: 197
I shored fished for Largemouth with three friends today! It was a warm bright sunny day with winds 0-10 mph which made for a tough day! All of us only landed like 5 to 6 fish each! I ended up catching the second fish of the day which turned out to be the best fish of the day a 20” post spawn female! I caught it on a 5” Senko Style Worm in a Watermelon/Chartreuse Swirl pattern along side a deeper weed line.

Well if you’re only going to get one make it a good one. Very nice.

This is awesome. Any pointers you’d be willing to give for a bass newbie?? Been lurking the forums for a while and fishing all over but haven’t really found any decent spots. Caught two small males last Saturday at Standley but haven’t been able to find anything significant.

After- I’m on the Western Slope! But just pitch around weeds, drop offs, and rocks with anything weightless in a soft plastic presentation. A good fluorocarbon leader around 18”-36”! Also throw Spinnerbaits if the wind picks up or throw top-waters over submerged grass and structure! I haven’t bass fished all that much on the front range except a few times in the Fort Collins and Boulder areas! 👍🎣

Nice girl man! She looks all of 20" and bet she would be pushing "tank" weight in a few weeks, after she puts the post spawn feed for sure...

Very nice LMB and congrats!

SirGreg- Thx!👍 I do work occasionally!(😁🎣) With the good moisture this year I had a couple of football fields of weed whacking chores to do on my property as well as I just restrained my barrel light!

Dizzel- Thx! 🤙Yeah she would’ve been in the 5 lb range before she dropped her eggs!

Bron-Thx!👍 I wish I would’ve caught more but a big one always salvages the day!

TeamGr3- Thx! Always enjoy your posts!✌️
