Lake: Continental Reservoir

Any info on Continential Rez?

Hi all-

I am going to be in the Creede area at the beginning of June. I am looking at bringing my boat and was looking for some info on Continental Rez. Looks like an eye catching spot but I know nothing about it. What could/should someone expect at 10,000 plus feet at the beginning of June? Anything would be helpful.

Thank you,

I have a cabin down that way. I can only tell you that reservoir is almost full and the run off this year will last way into June. That means the water real more than likely be more dirty than normal. Fishing can be good for trout but being in June could be a little early.

Was up there yesterday. The road in is still unpassable. Maybe by June.

Hey Dblendc - I went back up to Continental today and the road is still unpassable and doesn't look to be open anytime soon. The melt off is crazy up there! I will update in another week or two.
If you are coming down to the Creede area, both Beaver in South Fork and Road Canyon are producing well!

I heard Road Canyon winter killed. Is this not the case?

Not at all, fishing has been tougher with that late season starting due to runoff, but we've had a few 30 fish days this past 2 weeks. Continental is now open as well and fishing is good from both boat and shorel. Heading up tomorrow early and will try to post results and update when I get back.
