This time of year throwing jerk baits on the west side near North Pines boat ramp can be productive. Be patient and let the suspended baits sit between jerks for up to a minute sometimes. Also when the water warms up a little dragging a crawler slowly across the bottom can be productive. Lots of structure in Carter but focus on the areas where sand turns to rock. Easiest way to find good areas is to scout when the water is low. Concentrate on these transition points when they fill the lake in the spring.
