Wonderful Wiper Winterland!

Well after some very short outings I've landed some firsts for the year, Took some days off for spring break and managed to spend some time out fishing for the first time this year (was really nice weather) caught my first spotted bass of the year.

This weekend however was going to be nasty.......

Friday evening after back to back the warmest days thus far, was supposed to be cold, so I left work an hour early and left for the pond, almost like clockwork as soon as I arrived the winds picked up, then started raining too cold....left after only 20 minutes!

Saturday, tried again but this time started snowing and still cold and windy..... left after 20 minutes!

Sunday, arrived at the pond and was cold 31 air temp and light snow but no wind, adaptable.... after about 20 minutes I hooked into the first wiper of the season and suddenly I warmed up significantly ha-ha ...

Only spent about 2 hours there but managed to hook into a few more plus a Bonus Fish, caught this common carp, boy do these tanks really tug!!

Glad the weather and water are starting to warm up, should be a fun wiper season this year!!

Some fish porn, enjoy....

Those are some very healthy looking fish! Might have got into a few as well. This one was a hair shy of 13#. So far this season I've lost almost as many fish than I have landed. Can't help but think what the heck was on the other end.

Motoxx, nice hawg! Lots of fun wrapped up in that fish.

Dizzel, be great to get together. Send me an e-mail rorlo82@aol.com so we can work out a date. We can fish shore or from my boat as she is ready to hit the water.
