Jackson Lake State Park Boat Ramp is officially open for the 2019 season!

The water temperature is currently a chilly 42 degrees. Fishing has been slow, but with warm temperatures in the forecast, that all can change very quickly.

Remember that your boats do need to be registered and inspected prior to launching. Inspections and registrations are available at the Visitor Center from 8am-4pm daily.

Also a reminder: make sure your safety equipment is in good, working condition before launching. This includes life jackets, noise making devices (whistles & horns), type 4 flotation, and fire extinguishers. Itís better to know it works and where it is located before you find yourself in an emergency!

Pre-Inspection is only valid if they are from prevention waters within Colorado. This means you must have a WHITE receipt and GREEN seal. We do not allow launching before inspection hours with blue receipts.

Ok dumb question, what is the blue receipt for ?? Iím assuming that boat has been some place infected with something and would need a cleaning and inspection to be cleared to launch again. Thanks

Blue receipt means you can launch back at the lake that you came from without an inspection you just drop the seal. A white receipt means you can drop your seal at any Lake without inspection if your launching outside of inspection hours. When I go to lakes with blue receipts I generally don't waist my time getting a recept unless I know I'm going back to that lake right away. Once you go to another lake with a blue receipt it's basically like you don't have an inspection anyway and they re inspect your boat.

Want to take my new boat out here for the first time tomorrow just want to clarify...you go to the visitor's center for pre-launch inspection, no the boat ramp?

Just before you get to the parking lot for the boat ramp there is a little building to the right. That's where you get inspected.

It's on the left hand side (west side of road) going to the boat ramp. Right side when you are leaving the boat ramp. it's just past the RV dump sation. Can't miss it.
