Tue. morning I was fishing on a solid 8" of ice. Drove onto the park today because the dam road is still closed from the blizzard, only to find that the wind ripped the ice apart and there is now open water from Lake Point to the east boat ramp and towards the tower. 3-5 ft. piles of broken 8" ice chunks are piled up on the shoreline. It was the best ice season for walleye, especially 17-19" range with a few larger ones since I started icing about 10 seasons ago. I actually bought an electronic counter to keep track after #30, if that gives you a clue. My tears will probably raise the water level a bit, but ... until December when we dance again!
