I see there is still a good ice cap on the lake per previous reports. Is there any signs of open water anywhere on the lake around shore or out further? Some parts of this lake opens up earlier than other parts. Once there is some open water, the wind can make the ice cap go fast. Last year this lake had open water as of 3/7/2018. Thank you for any input.
Not sure how thick the ice is, but had my Milwaukee down to snow and barely broke thru, much thick and would need an extension. M18 Fuel series 1/2” hammer drill, thing is a bruiser, numerous 6” holes in seconds, said it before, highly recommended setup, was actually odd hearing gas augers

Try a lazer head on your drill...works way better than the mora! I agree though,I have a fairly new gas auger and hasnt been out in the 2 years since I got the drill set=up..No fumes, way lighter,quiet...cant beat em..

No open water as of 3/23. Ice is still 18" thick but top and bottom 6" are looking cloudy and milky. Ice in the parking lot in the morning, and a giant puddle in the afternoon when I left. Water clarity is terrible, could barely see my jig at 5 foot down.
