I saw a few posts about the lake shutting down last year. This was one of my favorite bass spots in town because it wasn't overcrowded (not including homeless people). I went last year and took some videos of all the dead fish there were biggens everywhere and same with catfish the whole shoreline was covered with dead fish, if the city killed them all off that is pathetic! Anyway here is a link to the a few vids I captured.

Yeah it's sad the fish had to pay the price there has got to be a better way to handle that or move them-wishful thinking probably. So the question is what other hidden gems are nearby with bass and not a lot of other anglers:)

You can always count on someone or something or some policy jacking up your favorite fishing hole in this town. pathetic

You found that one I can assure you that there are more but they will kill it off eventually to repair a dam or get rid of some invasive species. Or they will fill it in with dirt! Or the Aerators will stop working when its 100 degrees out Or shut it down completely. Guaranteed.

Man I had no idea there was so many reasons to kill fish, really too bad. I'm on the look out for a new bass hole, I'm not shying away from trying out spots that are hard to get too or questionable this year!! Can't wait to get on some bass this year:)

The lake had a major problem with homeless people moving in and trashing the place. There was large amount of evidence that showed meth was being cooked up and waste dumped into the water. This pond had no outflow so I'm pretty sure you can blame those people and not the city.
Reason I know this is because I'm the one that was raising hell about it.
City responded by shutting it down and posting closed due to construction signs.
Been coming there for years, I'll have to contact some people to find out just what's going on for sure.

That's good info to know about the meth I may have changed my mind about fishing meth water if I would have known that lol I wasn't all that active on fish explorer at the time I posted it on FishBrains which I actually stopped using and moved over to fish explorer because anglers seem to be more willing to offer help and knowledge instead of just posting pictures of the big fish they catch. Do you have any other recommendations for good bass spots nearby that was a little gem to me:)
