Hey guys. Getting ready for a day of ice fishing in South Dakota with the old man in a couple weeks. Iíll be sure to post any pics of we do well. Trying to plan out my spring tho, and Iím curious if anyone knows when Brush Hollow typically has open water. I know down in that valley itís a little warmer but not much.

It will probably have a thin lid on it after tomorrow but typically it is open all winter long.

The few times Iíve fished it, I was not impressed. For trout Iíd go to 11mile and for bass Iíd go to Pueblo res. Iím sure there are some good fish in brush hollow but I will have not seen them. For trout in open water, the tail water below Pueblo is a good bet

Agree with Ark Angler, I've done pretty good starting in mid March thru early July for crappies, small LMB and bluegills at Brush. Good place for kids to catch lots of gills once the water warms up.

Thanks SGM, that's good to know. I fished there a couple times last year, saw plenty of evidence of trout and largemouth but had yet to confirm that there were actually smallies in there, lol.
Definitely a place I wanna check out again this year since it's so close to springs....
