Where to fish Crown Hill Lake

Post By: michaelpthompson      Posted: 2/13/2019 11:37:22 AM     Points: 2666
Looking to do some fishing here maybe on Friday if the weather holds and there are some openings in the ice. Last report I saw was from a couple of weeks ago, and we've had some warm days since then, so I'm wondering about ice and current conditions.

Given all that, where are some good places to set up and fish from the bank?Thinking catfish and carp, but wouldn't turn down bass or trout either.

Any advice appreciated.

I drove by it yesterday afternoon. Looked like there might be open water in the NE corner which should spread today. Park on 32nd on the shoulder.

Thanks bron.

I did stop by yesterday for a few minutes. Are you talking about the shoulder right next to the cemetery, where the sign says "Stay off shoulder," or the part further west with all the no parking signs? -) I did see a few cars parked near the former, and it seems to be the closest to the open water.

There are always cars parked there at the East end of the lake. Don't know of any no parking signs. You could park in the East lot off 26th and walk across to the open water on the bike/jogging path too.

I didnt see any no parking signs on my way home tonight at the spot I mentioned off 32nd. 2 cars parked there, kind of muddy, log fence.

Yeah, I went back by there today and I think I found the spot you're talking about. Several cars parked there while people walked their dogs. There's a sign on the east end that says Stay Off Shoulder, but maybe that just means further on. Hope the weather holds tomorrow.

Entry Lake / River Date
Had a great time today, though I only got a hour, due to other crap that came up. Still, an hour in the sunshine with lines in the water was better than the boring work I could have been doing, even though I didn't get any fish.Had the catfish rig on, and they aren't very active yet. Got some carp gear on order hope to get more into those when it arrives.

There was only a bit of clear water in the Northeast corner of the lake, everything else still iced over. Put out some store bought catfish bait with a slip sinker. No action, but it was still enjoyable. Hoping to get out again soon.
