So it was COLD but fun to fish Blue once again. Long drive from Monte Vista but always an adventure. Fished second bridge and drilled about 6 inches of ice there. Fished 47 FOW and had MANY fussy fish swim by but very few taker lakers. Tried plastics with sucker and mealworms. Caught a nice Kokanee which surprised me...first ever through the ice. Minus 17 to start the day, but a great day none the less.

It was a small plastic with mealworm for the Koke. I had a lot of fish swim by at 25 feet and NO INTERST at all, which I think were kokes. Then a few masses of baitfish showed on the Lowrance too. Deeper fish crawling along bottom I assumed most likely Lakers and they were very picky. May go back next week and try again...
