Fishing with auto jigging machine

Post By: TheFishingMachine      Posted: 1/15/2019 4:38:41 PM     Points: 164
I just built an auto jigging machine to target kokanee. I have been out twice with my vexlar fl-18 with no luck. Any tips or tricks??? I had a plain set of silver cow bells with a 6oz weight on the jigging machine. I know I was in a decent spot because a couple guys by me were doing pretty good. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You should have asked those guys what they were using, most anglers will at least give you a hint to their success. You could have offered to set up your jigging machine closer to them to attract and hold the fish longer. This is dependent on how friendly they may be too, you never know till you ask.

Weíre you marking fish on your finder, maybe they were at a different depth, using a different lure/ bait, holding their mouths differently, donít know?

When i fish with jigging machine, I typically run two sets of cowbells clipped in-line, no weight at all. I set the speed of the jigging machine so that the blades just turn on the up-stroke and the downstroke is a freefall without too much slack in the line. The depth of the cowbells is typically around 20ft below the ice.

Thanks for the help! I bet I was jigging the cow bells too deep. I never saw any fish on the screen either. Itís possible it was just one of those days where the fish decided to not show up. Iíll take your advice and give it a go.
