Pine Valley Ranch ice

Anyone in the Conifer area know if Pine Valley Ranch Pond has a safe layer of ice on it?

Was by there about a week ago and at that time, it was iced over, but not strong enough ice to be safe to walk on. Will try and get by there in the next few days and see what it looks like.

Will check it out as well. Didn't know about the ice event this weekend. I have never done any ice fishing before - it is something that I'd like to learn how to do.

If the ice is good and you meet us we can set you up for the day with gear. Goosehunter and I would be happy to introduce you to ice fishing.

Email me through my skipper link cstone and I'll keep you in the loop on our trips. Looks like the fishing event Wattz put up was moved to Staunton because PVR isn't safe. Will be making alternative plans for tomorrow.

Is this a public or private lake?

PVR and Staunten are Jeffco Open Space.

Any ice update?

If anyone sees anything positive on this (or otherwise) please post. We have another trip planned for next Friday and GH, CD, and I are totally up in the air on the venue. I really would like to take Cisco to this lake but we have alternatives.

Went up Saturday and lake is now open for ice fishing with 8" of ice. Caught and released 6 rainbows and a small sucker.

Was there a couple of days ago and we found the ice to be a 14" to 16". Should still be good. I am thinking bout hitting it on Saturday myself. With the cold snap forecast, I'd expect it to be find until mid next week or so.
