Turned into a good day

My daughter is back from school for winter break and wanted to go fishing, so we went. Realized I left my wax worms on the table at home in Aurora as I was driving through Bailey. Busted the catch on my tackle box somewhere between the Jeep and setting up on the ice. My auger ran terribly and barely managed to get three holes drilled. Not the start I wanted to my only father/daughter fishing trip for awhile.

Setup near the Turner gulch boat ramp, dug out some old power bait and got to it. Pretty soon we were bringing up 10" to 13" rainbows at a steady pace. The bite really picked up around 9-10:30. It got warm and was very nice until around noon when the wind picked up significantly, glad we had a shelter. Turned into a really nice day of fishing.

It was a busy Saturday looking at all the huts and holes all over Tarryall. Hope some other folks had as much fun as we did.

Talk to "Power at hand" on East Colfax, they tune small motors and will get your auger up and cutting again.

Run some sea foam through your auger and change the plug. That's usually 90% of the issue

Power at hand is the best mower shop in town no doubt!

Fish or no fish, auger working or not, it was a good day. Your daughter came back from school and made it a priority to spend the day with dad on the ice. That is all you need!

Pulled the plug on the auger when I had some free time, gap was waaay off at 0.021 and spec is 0.030. Fixed the gap and cleaned up some stuff and it runs better. Raider1113, I've heard good things about seafoam, thanks for reminding me. If I still have issues I'll check out the Power at hand folks.

Cuzn E you're exactly right.
