Lake: Steamboat Lake

Steamboat lake

Made my first trip out on the ice yesterday to Steamboat lake. Caught about 20. Bows and cutbows and where from 8in to 19in. Crappie jigs and a tube where the ticket. Had a few hit the dead stick but better while jigging. Also had a pig of a fish on that I could not turn the fish and lost when the ice cut the line on one of the big runs it took. Next time!!

Very cool, glad you got out. How thick was the ice?

Great report, Kevin. Lots of snow there yet ? Sounds like a good place to go. Another place I havenít fished open water or ice. Is your grayling lake snowed in?

Ice is about 4in thick. Down low not too much snow yet, but up by the lake walked thru about 2ft before I hit the lake.

Grayling lake would need some snowshoes but would be easy to get to
