If anyone has any info for Ice fishing there ie if it's allowed, fish type, if it's accessible now.

Basschaser,

Current rules and regs:

Interesting Info:

Considering the location and the weather... it is probably capped. May need snowshoes to get to it.

The sign doesn't say anything about ice fishing...but I guess it is possible. The CPW doesn't even have Urad SWA on their website or map.

I'm surprised that it doesn't get more activity.

With the FxR+, the last reports were Oct 2016 and they mentioned catching trout.

Sorry I couldn't help more.
Hope you have an awesome time!

Here's what the CPW app says. Although, I have found that just because it doesn't have "ice fishing" box checked that you can't ice a lake. Not sure what the rules are.

Here's my understanding--the first part of the road in is maintained by the the mine and may be ok but there is a gate partway up that will be locked and the rough 4WD part of the road will be a hike like Fall River. The lake will be frozen over and good for ice fishing and I can't find any rules saying you can't. I've fished Urad a dozen times over the years and only caught rainbows but tigers were stocked and I'm sure there are brookies and cutties in there.

There is a high avalanche risk in the area with avalanche shoots that cross the road and could potentially hit the lake as well. The mine maintains access to the water treatment plant and nothing further. The SWA is owned by the mine and the contract contains specific information about access due to winter conditions causing liability concerns. The fishing is typically stocker size trout.
