Earliest ice on Mary's I've seen in about 10 years of paying attention.
Seems like this winter might shake out a lot like 2015. The Blob in the Pacific Northwest + El Nino = cold fall, but mild for the rest of the winter with historically low snowpack in the Rockies, getting worse the further north and west you go. Could be a warm and dry spring or a very wet spring, depending on when the Blob and El Nino break up.
Better take some ice spikes goose. I hope to hit a local pond that capped last night by this sat. It's only gonna be a high of 32 till sat morning up here in SD.

take a spud bar yall! im sure a of the higher lakes in that area will be frozen this weekend and likely safe..id wager very safe by next weekend! have fun out there (i have to wait as my hunting season isnt over yet)
Bass, Don’t forget to take any snowfall into account, especially on new ice. Added weight of the snow might make what was “safe” a new problem. Good luck!
I use crawfish244 on ebay. I've been using him for 4 or 5 seasons now. We usually buy 500 or a thousand a couple times a season and split them up between my brother, lackskill and I. Great bait and a great price. The link is for 1k but he sells them as small as 250. They last along time and alway come packaged well. Way cheaper than buying from a box store. If you end up buying from him please drop my name. I'm Goosehunter82 on eBay also. [log in for link]
Please don't waste my tax money on rescues or recoveries that should not have happened. I pray we all stay safe and have a gas in all we do. Thanks, mike
