Access Question

Post By: Abel1      Posted: 9/8/2018 8:51:28 AM     Points: 528
The access to some of these places is pretty narrow and if you were in a truck and came across another going the opposite direction there could be a problem not to mention the damage you might do to your undercarriage. Would it be legal to park at the entrance and use a quad to reach them instead? I've been watching a lot of You Tube lately and would like to fish a lot of these areas but access to some of them if not hiking could be problematic.

Ive seen people do it all the time going to Fall River and Chinns. Theres a spot just before the trail gets gnarly that you see trucks with trailors parked there.

While the trail to Chinns is pretty narrow, I've never had an issue with finding enough space for an oncoming vehicle. If you are taking an ATV up, you can park at the split where you can go up to Fall River to the right and Chinns to the left, plenty of space there for a trailer. I was out there around July 4th and the trail has been improved since last summer, I even saw a couple of Subaru's up there. I'm not sure how the trail to Fall River is looking, but it's super doable in a stock SUV.

Been to Fall River twice this summer...the road up to there was same as always.

I wouldnt pull a trailor to the Y. Pull off where you see the others parked or where you are no longer ok with the road and look all over for private property signs.

I agree with Bron. I fish up there often and would definitely park long before the split to Chinn's. The road to Chinn's was better last year when they worked on the dam. This year it's back to rough. Has anyone fished there recently? Have a great day.
