Lake: Wellington Lake

Wellington Lake this weekend

I got invited to go there with a group of people this weekend, but I don't really know what to expect - never fished there. Looks like a trout mostly lake?

Worth bringing a small boat there? Able to launch now?

Wellington is loaded with trout...and there are some giants in there. [log in for link] rules and regs are in the fishing section...no gas powered boats, hand launch only.

I took my kayak up there two years ago and only spent a couple of hours but I did run into some quality trout. its not a super big lake so I was able to fish my way around it in under 3 hours.

Been there once, and loved it. Lots of browns and brooks. Major predators.
jerkbaits were the only thing i caught them on.

I didn't fish... did the visiting with friends thing, instead. It looked like really nice water but with the throngs of people on the water, I didnt' have the stomach for any of it.

$5 per car + $10 PER person.... plus the last 6 miles the road to get inand out is hell. I won't be back.
