Lake: McPhee Reservoir

McPhee Crappie

K guys I’ll be echoing a lot of other post about this lake mainly because there is not a lot of info.
First I’m sitting here over looking beaver right now and notice a ton of submerged trees, has anyone found crappie in the submerged timber and if so are they worth targeting.
Second I’ve got to try on the walleye, anyone tried care to share any info, I’m tempted to come back down next weekend and troll bottom bouncers or slip bobber fish the trees. But any fingers pointing in the right direction would be appreciated.
Lastly anyone know where to find a good lake map. I might try and find a quad from pre dam construction.

I don't know about current maps, but the U.S. Gelogical survey office at the Denver Federal center will have a pre dam survey map . . .not to sure how much earth moving they did to make the dam and how much they changed the rest of the area, but its worth looking in to.

the insight genesis maps are usually pretty accurate depending on water level. [log in for link] I've used them before I hit some new lakes to get an idea on what I should be expecting and to find some likely areas to target. Even if you don't own a Lowrance unit you can still go and use the site.
