Wolford Koko-nutz 1st solo trip

Post By: TeamGR3      Posted: 8/9/2018 8:21:29 AM     Points: 1522
1st solo trip to Wolford, without both of the boys serving our country, so we can all do our thing-I salute you both Nick+Chris, and all our troops...
Well, Wolford did not disappoint, but netting fish with no help was tough, I usually have one of the boys net fish, and I for them, but solo with the extended net that felt like a ton in one hand while juggling fish was tough... I lost more fish than caught, but still fun ! I managed 21 fish to the boat and kept 7- lost the rest trying to net...
I started with my go to stuff, a silver 6" sling blade/holographic-hoochie pink combo, no luck, I then ran a port side leadcore line-3 colors down with a pink sling blade/wedding ring setup, no luck, I then switched my downrigger side to a green sling blade/ wedding ring in pink and chartreuse, then BINGO... FISH ON !!! I had to change colors every 15-20 mins. to see what they wanted, and that was the pattern. The inspector said he caught three Tuesday, and he saw a few guys jigging over the weekend with luck, I saw 2 other boats fishing-did not see them catching fish-not sure if they slammed it or not, but they were gone by 1000hrs and noon. I ran the Cannon down to 45', it caught the biggest Koke at 19" and about 1 1/2lbs. to maybe 2 lbs. I forgot my corn soaked in koke sauce, so not panicking, I improvised with just Gulp pink fleas, wsshhh, thought I was done for the day without my special shoe-peg corn combo...
Long 3 hr. ride to and from Parker, but fun-just missed my boys... enjoy as always goofy pics!!!

Great to see that you finally got up there. You just stay after it until you connect. Great job!

Great story! The green thing is new to me but I immediately painted up some lures to try soon.

Good job, kokes are tough to net with someone yet alone. I know the feeling of not having the boys around. Just part of growing older. Makes it more special when you do get together.
