Just heard from Nate Zelinski and this years Don't Bash the Trash tournements are locked in at Johnson Res. and Thornton Gravel Ponds West Gravel Lakes. You can start registering on Tightline Outdoors website July first. If you haven't done these tourneys they are a blast and great prizes!

Thats new to me this year. Sounds like they are handing out the measuring troughs they always use and having us record our catches this year. In the past they had the Carpgirls stationed around the lake to verify catches. The venues this year cover more area so they probably had to change that. I can ask Nate.

The price went up a little but the cash prizes are way better too. Only 1st had a cash payout previously. Im good with this format. If you dont have a smart phone anyone there will be happy to help out. this is the finest group of fishermen you could spend a day with.

Thankfully, my work schedule cleared up for Saturday 28th's TLO event, my registration is IN, and I will be there, with a mug of #victorycoffee in the event I actually catch a fish. Look forwards to seeing some familiar faces at the tournament and hopefully some new !

The longest carp today was 28". There were 69 fish caught by about 20 anglers. Big congrats to Carpitup for taking first and a big victory coffee for John for taking third. I had the first and biggest at the net this morning and it spit the hook out. We never got another bite today. Ill try to get some pics up shortly.
Had a great time today! This was the first time my dad and I actually caught fish in one of these tournaments. Even though we didn't place it was still a blast. Great to see a lot of familiar faces out there!
My buddy James landed the biggest of the event with a 28.5", followed by a 28" and i had a lowly 27.5" as my best. Spot James and I fished certainly had some larger carp, alas not the #s to battle both Carpitup and Bob, who had a haul fest of catches and lost fish. I fought well until noon, after which bite died on my spot. Still loads of fun !
Best event to date by far with many anglers putting fish on the board. The new video self reporting of catches worked well, albeit having a parter to help video sure helped. Reminder: bring extra pwr for your phone!
The venue is certainly packed with carp, give it a few more seasons and some 30"+ fish will.certainly be there to be caught.
