A little Love

Hit Brush last night for a few hours to see if the crappie have started yet. Sad to report that the ansewer was a big fat no. CPW must have stocked it rainbows as we caught a few, saw several follow the jigs and saw more jumping/hitting surface bugs. We tried all our standard crappie jigs, locatione etc and got no takers. As I said earlier in another post, I've never seen the water this high at this time of the year. I think that and how cold the water still is has put the bite and spawn off. Was a great fishing night with a warm breeze but not a great catching night. Saw 3 folks coming out to fish after dark (walleyes I'm guessing) but no idea how they did.

Is it possible the water from the Arkansas is keeping the reservoir higher, and keeping the water colder than usual? Could be a reason for a slow crappie bite.

Digging, I was happy to be on the water so Iíll take the belt with pride.

AWB, or should I say Jeti master, there are no fish in Spinney it Antero, only ,Mounument,

Ski, yes I think the high and cold water have really delayed the fishing. Plus more cold water coming in will not help. Plus side is if the lake gets to stay at a higher level all year we will possibly see bigger fish and a better late season bite.

Will be heading out there with the kayak to see what will bite. Haven't fished there since last fall. Nice to just be out enjoying the scenery. I'll post an update to let you all know if there are any bites.
