Don't be afraid to go shallower than that. Did okay on bows with 2" pink Fuzz-E grubs tipped with a piece of crawler.

We fished 5 to18 ftw in front of the yacht club. 15" of ice with 12" of slush on top, covered with several inches of snow. Later in the day it got pretty soft and wet.Fished tipped jigs and spoons, caught one small bow. It was fun and meant to be a learning experience. Biggest lesson, don't leave the snowmobiles on the trailer!... it's an interesting place to fish because tourist
come out and take your picture!
