Fish: Cutbow Trout

The ultimate cutbow

Post By: Golfprogreg      Posted: 1/26/2018 2:01:19 PM     Points: 9
How would you design the ultimate cutbow? What would be your pick of rainbow strains? What cutthroat strain would you choose? I would like to entertain a pacific steelhead/lahontan cutthroat hybrid. Perhaps a kamloops rainbow/ Yellowstone cutthroat hybrid? Is anyone familiar with the makeup of the elevenmile cutbow genetics? I use to fish lakes in Utah that had bonneville cutthroat contributions.

Thanks Bryan. I was thinking it would be cool to combine the fighting potential of a Pacific steelhead and the growth potential of the lahontan cutthroat into one supercharged cutbow.

Definitely, a Pacific Steelhead is a bucket list fish of mine! Not exactly on par with your topic! Hereís a Native Cutthroat my friend caught out of the Bass Lake where I get most of my nice Bass! It hit his Jerkbait like a freight train! I caught one the year prior,it was a trophy but not as big as his.Theyíre not even on the species list for this lake! I I also caught a nice Cutbow there and itís not on the list either.
