Any Catches Here?

Has anyone ever fished/caught anything here? I saw they stocked fish but I was wondering how the fishing is.

It's over by where my buddy lives. I did try fishing it once a couple years ago with worms under a bobber. Figured it would be a good way to see if anything was in there. Didn't get any attention at all, not even from bait stealers. I'm sure there are fish in it, but I can't tell you for sure what kind or what size.

I had the exact same experience as shiverfix a few years ago, but it was march or april and the water was still pretty cold. A summertime visit may have revealed a different experience.

While I was fishing one dude mentioned to me some bigger bullhead came out of there. Sorta makes me think it may've winterkilled some years ago (bullhead can handle pretty low oxygen), maybe during the early 2000s drought years and hasn't been restocked since. Then again if HP is saying it's been carp and bullheads since the 70s, then I suppose its entirely possible it's never been managed at all.

Honestly a pretty good-looking piece of water otherwise.

brookie, I think I remember finding out in my research that is had dried up to dead pool during the drought, but don't quote me on that. It was a couple years ago I did researched this pond.

One thing I remember is the west half is a very shallow "soup dish" and we always fished the deeper water to the east part of the lake. Back then there was a healthy crawdaddy population.
Back when I lived in that part of town,I fished there very often as a kid and never saw anything but bullheads, carp and one GIANT crappie. I don't remember any other kinds of fish being caught. Anyone ever talk to the Parks Dept and see what they say is in there?

That place was full of carp about decade ago, I tried with a fly rod a few times but never had any luck. Lots of goose turds around there!

I see on the bottom of the page that some crappie and bass and other fish were stocked which was why I was curious. I also know that there are bass as I have seen a picture of an about 8 inch bass caught out of there, but I was wondering if it was worth a try.
