Losing the ice battle

Post By: TADA32      Posted: 1/10/2018 2:27:07 PM     Points: 1564
Looks like the front range ice is going to be gone soon. I'm gonna try to go out couple more times if I can. Any suggestions for the weekend? Been so busy with work I haven't been able to check the ice.

I went to Douglas today. The edges are soft but the ice is about 5 inch thick. Holes were icing up pretty quick. Once you get on the good ice it's hard solid ice.

On another note. It was only in certain areas that there was soft ice on the shore.

Well I did something stupid today. I went back out. The ice was great. even the edges were hardened back up and the little bit of water that was there was ice again. But that's not the bad thing. Fished for a while. No wind. Super cold. bite was good once I found the fish. So I put my hut up. Didn't even think about bringing my sled hut. Wind picks up and bam snap a pole on my tent. Sad day. but the fishing was good. hahaha. Hoping the ice holds to the wind. Since there is no wind here in Windsor going to try a bass pond through the ice. See you guys tomorrow out there.
