Hey all a buddy and I are going to try riffle tomorrow or saterday. Anyone have any advise on starter spots, depth, or presentation that might produce a walleye. Also can we use minnow heads I know not live bait, but the minnows are dead
hey walleye, would you mind letting us know how thick the ice is once you get back. i would appreciate it greatly. i want to make the trip really bad and just want some extra insurance that the drive wont be for nothing. Thanks!
Haven't been to Harvey for a few days, but there was good ice, although quite a bit thinner, ~4", and was getting slushy and wet in the afternoon. Lots of people fishing all over the lake, only been straight across from the boat ramp.
Not sure where you found 10 of ice! Ive fished the west end, all around the island, east and west side of boat ramp and never found any ice over 7. Fishing has been good but still use caution. Had 6 east of boat ramp on Monday, moved 20-30 yards towards the middle of the lake and was standing on maybe 2. Be safe out there...
Well fishing was either slow or I didnt figure out the lake in the seven hours we spent hole hopping. Managed to ice 7 pumpkin trout 2-3#, one 9 perch and one dinner plate size blue gill in the 9 catigory as well. Ice varied 3-7 with open water on the east end near the stream inlet. Couple groups near us iced 12-13 perch but not in great numbers.
