The Estes QUADfecta!

Post By: anglerwannabe      Posted: 1/1/2018 10:24:27 AM     Points: 57799
The Boss and I went to Estes\RMNP Saturday and since FMFO said the lake was open, I took a rod. As it turned out it was a pretty awesome day all the way around, Steph and I got the QUADfecta... we saw elk and deer and although the winds were a bit crazy the browns cooperated and then to top it off we hit Smokin Daves. We truly enjoy going up there, there is no telling what you might see. n the past we've seen turkey, mountain goats and big horn sheep among other things. Heck once we even saw a crazy hippie chick dancing in the middle of the road.. I thought I ws in the 70's for a moment. lol

AWESOME Jim , glad you had a great day up here ! Gotta love SmokinDaves.
I know that girl !!! Lmao. My parents have had a summer cabin up here since 1986 and we have ALL the wild life come through their property Year round and it is so cool. I would have met you for a beer but the wife and I went to the valley and I saw Devin at Wal-Mart in Longmont.

Smoking Daves is tuff to beat! Used to be one of the reasons I'd head that way, now they have locations in Lyons, Longmont, and north Denver

I grew up in Nederland and I'm pretty sure I've seen that girl in the 80'

I can't believe you were fishing open water!! That's great that the browns were cooperating.

Great to see that you were able to get out as well!

Glad you had a good time in the out of doors. Did not know there were mountain goat in RMNP. Take any photos?

I was up in Nederland today, just skiing. I saw a lot of ponds on the way to Eldora. Any fish? Are they public/

here's a pic from a different trip to RMNP. As far as Eldora, I really do not know.. maybe FMFO, Skookshunter or pikencolorado will answer, they all live up there.
