Ice Update

Post By: chodeman      Posted: 12/10/2017 10:35:57 PM     Points: 316
Started the day at Road Canyon on 3" to 4" of hard yet still "sketchy" ice. This afternoon I ran over to Mountain Home. Spud bar went thru on second hit with 2" at best. With overnights lows in the single digits, hoping to have good ice by next weekend. I'll update then!

Sure did Lefty. I guess you didn't read how he said he was gonna update it after he went this last weekend.

From what I understand, there were people fishing it yesterday and today. No idea what the conditions were though.

I haven't been back over, but was told that people are fishing it. Wish I had a better update.

We fished it on the 23rd, but 80% of the lake was open by the time we left. One cove on the north side had older thicker ice but it was getting thin by the time we left so I donít know if it survived the warm windy conditions.

Had 62 degrees in Monte Vista today! I fished at 10,000 feet and had water on top of ice. Mountain Home....well be VERY careful out there.

I fished it last Sunday north by bathroom.it was 2to 3 inches of hard clear ice.it was a bit sketchy but it was strong.3 inches holds about 1000 pounds. My friends and I managed to catch about 10 plus rainbow on earthworms.which the biggest was about 20inches.pink or red jigs seem to do the job.small jigging did well too.i missed alot of hits and saw a huge bite on one of my fish I released.Therea big pike in here I saw on chase my fish to the hole.
