Hey guys thinking of going up to Cheesman this next weekend and hucking some streamers. Was wondering if anybody had any tips for us. My buddies last trip before he takes off for TBS. Neither of us have really fished streamers any advice would be awesome!
Black woolly buggers and mix up your retrieves from long slow ones to short fast ones. Just keep trying different retrieves until you get the results your looking for. Also make the longest cast you can make to cover the most water possible. When I fish streamers I try to locate the active fish so move around on the shore don't wait for the fish to come to you. I have never been to Cheesman but this should work for those smallies and trout in there. Olive and brown woolly buggers work good too.

My favorite all-time fly is a black baby bugger (beadhead), size 12 or 14. You can strip it like a conventional streamer, but I prefer to work it back with little twitches and a generally slowish retrieve. It doesn't need to be worked fast, because it isn't sinking very quickly.

For two seasons in a row I've had a great success with olive colors. With or without beads. Pistol petes as well. With sparkling thread or no glitters. Sizes 12 to 16.
Slow retrieves or twitching. Sometimes getting bites on the pauses after twitch, when fly is falling.
