Fish: Greenback Cutthroat

"Secret" Greenback Cutthroat Lake

I've not been doing good at my "secret fishing" lake the last few weeks! I'm not sure if it was from natural reproduction (I doubt it) or the CPW snuck in there and stocked it with a bunch of 2" Greenback Cutthroats. How ever they got in there it will make it GREAT for the future fishing there, but made it hell trying to catch fish now. But I'm persistent, besides it's heaven for me! No people there with only a moose or two, a BIG ole Black Bear and once in a while an elk and just me. Today was MUCH different! Today I saw ONLY the large Greenback Cutthroats raising on the surface. It didn't take long and BAM a 18" Greenback Cutthroat! In about an hour I caught and released 8 Greenback Cutthroats 13" to 18", WOW what a great hour! Than just before sunset the little ones started raising and the big boy's just stopped hitting. Oh well I had forgot my flashlight and needed to get out before dark.

Beautiful fish
I bet those are reproduced fish.
They stock 5 inch fish not 2 inch. Sounds like your secret lake has a good ecosystem
