My ANTI-RANT thread

Post By: anglerwannabe      Posted: 8/7/2017 6:55:12 PM     Points: 49636
we frequently have ranting threads of non-positive things that happen to our members.. So in all fairness, here is a thread to say folks are also often AWESOME.

It's an almost 4 hour drive to Tiago and even longer back with late afternoon traffic but The Boss and I love going there as it's quiet and beautiful. To make it better, Kev and his family joined us too. What made it really special is what happened when we got there.

Tiago only has one place to really access the water and there was a couple that had set up camp right by it. They also had a small boat that was in the only channel to launch from as Lily Pads own the lake, but at least the narrow road\path to the lake was clear and I back my truck down. As The Boss and I unload our tubes the gentleman and I do indeed mean gentleman walks down and starts pulling his boat out of the way. I tell him not to worry as the tubes will easily go around it. But he apologized for it being there and tugged it over. So shortly after we launch the tubes and float about 3 to 3.5 hours and have a wonderful time. But we have to get out because of the drive home. As we're loading the truck the man comes over again and asks how we did and what we were using.. you know, normal stuff and we had some nice small talk. After that Steph, Kev and I finish loading all our gear. As I climb in the truck, I notice the gentleman and his lady were launching their boat. Maybe it was just the ambiance of the day or the beauty of the lake.. but with the timing, it really seemed like this very nice couple, literally stayed off the lake while we fished. Kind of like giving us our space if you will

Sir\ma'am if you're a member of this forum and you see this.. please accept my thanks for being so kind and I hope you had a killer afternoon!

Thank you guys. I believe most folks are pretty good, but like anything else, the negative gets the most and quickest attention. We need to share some stories like this one, once in awhile.

No doubt the jumping fish is a pretty sweet pic and glad you all enjoyed the pic. Here are a couple more from the same lake.

1) you'll see the splash\swirl and how I rig for the in line spinner.. bobber stoppers and bullet weight.. but if you look closely a little to the left you'll see the fish tail and the bottom half of the fish

2) the second pic is one of my favorites from a couple years ago.. how Steph got the pic is beyond me. You'll see two circles, a smaller and larger. The fish took a swipe at my lure and bumped it to the surface.. the small circle is the lure the larger circle was the fish's follow thru

3) big ole badger! that was super cool

Good story Jim. Only time I was ever there, folks were camping at the bottom of that road as well. Bunch of college aged kids. They were polite too...although I think they were also hurting pretty bad from the prior night’s festivities...heh.
