What Zimmerman greenbacks?

Wife and I backpacked in to Zimmerman, our first time there. Very beautiful. No fish to speak of in the lake though. Last night I watched for 3 hours around sunset as the mayflies were swarming hard and dapping everywhere. I saw 3 rises, in a lake like that should absolutely boil with risers in those conditions. Nothing this morning either.

i feel like I have heard the same thing about other lakes this year...for whatever reason trout just aren't hitting things on top. Weird.

I can't keep up with their killing off of the lake and restocking with "more pure" greenbacks. Went a couple times in the past few years with skunking and then later found out no fish. Are there decent fish in there, currently anyone?

I had the same experience a few weeks ago up there. Saw very, very few fish, one of which I'm about 99% positive was a dead rainbow trout near the CPW netting area...
