I was fishing the arsenal before work on Tuesday mostly going after bass. Didn't manage to get a single one in anything but had some small ones pick my jig up and swim off without eating it good enough to get hooked. Switched to a 4 inch jackall giron bluegil swimbait and not 5 casts in I hook into pure weight and it starts running. I automatically think I hooked into a state record bass. This thing was bending my heavy duty 7'6" rod like a noodle. Was pulling 15 pounds of drag and absolutely dogging me. I get this fish up a low and behold it's a golden submarine. I don't know how I landed him. He was snagged in the top dorsal with barbless hooks and I put a lot of pressure on him. Landing him on that floating boardwalk sucked so please excuse my somewhat bad hold on the fish. Didn't wanna drop that beast.
