Boulder res ice update

Post By: Speezer      Posted: 1/3/2017 12:12:27 PM     Points: 630
I was wondering if anyone knows if boulder res has safe ice? Im guessing if it doesnt it is close, and should be safe by the weekend with all this cold weather. Just hoping someone has been there recently. Was planning on fishing Boyd but since I dont want to partake in the tourney, and afraid it might be poor fishing on sunday when I plan on going with all the activity on Saturday I hoping to go to boulder.

Yes I fish with a buddy at Boyd, he went to Boulder res to check out the ice drilled a few holes and ran off quickly, ice was at a bare 3 inches. Of course over the last two nights it probably improved a little especially after last night and the weather today. Barely any sun if at all.

Thanks for the info, do you know where they went, the park side or did they walk in from coot lake? I usually walk in from the coot lake side to the dam. Might have to try and get out there Friday evening and try to put a hole in to see what it's like after this cold spell and snowy cloudy days

I have not made it out yet, I was going to go after work tonight to check the ice, but with the roads still icy i wont be able to make it until after dark, and i dont feel like checking ice conditions in the dark alone.

Still planning on going sunday morning to ice it, with lonetree res as my back up plan if the ice is bad

Thanks for taking a look. Should meet you out there sometime when the ice gets thicker. Not sure about this week it could go away.
