Lake: DeWeese Reservoir

DeWeese update

Post By: Raskal      Posted: 1/10/2008 4:41:59 PM     Points: 3126
Fished DeWeese yesterday from 8am til about 2 pm. Three of us caught 8 fish (7 rainbows and 1 cutbow) - all between 12 and 14 inchs and fat. Using wax worms or nightcrawlers on a small orange jig. Most from 12 to 15 feet deep.

Ice was from 9 to 10 inches thick with 4 to 5 inches of snow (about an inch of water under the snow when we left). Roads decent -- we drove in to the north end - were very glad we had 4 wheel drive. Saw one outfit stuck on the south side ... but snow shovels got him out.

BTW - anyone know of a reliable source of wax worms in the southwest (Littleton) area ?

Hey Ford, Deweese is a great place to take kids! Pink and White jig with meal worm with head cutt off. South side near the dam , off of the big rock point 20ft of water. As with most trout-very light biters.
