I hiked up to St Mary's last week. Got to the parking space at 10 am. Went to the upper lot and there were only 2 spots left. Lots of people going up and a lot coming down. Saw a lot of dog poop bags on the ground. Hey if you take some food with you and forget the utensils there is a spoon in one location along the shoreline and a fork in another. There are also two large bowls one red and one chrome near the top of the trail just before you get to the lake. Kind of a scavenger hunt. Anyhow the weather was sunny and warm. Halfway up the trail we hit sleet. Got to the top and it was windy as heck. Throughout the trip the wind blew/the sky cleared then it rained/then snowed/then cleared again. Halfway down the trail around 3pm the wind stopped. You will need some warm clothes by the time you get to the glacier. No ice on the water. Just a fantastic day all around. Have fun!
