Kicked the new year off right with a fishing trip to Badger Creek, Des Moines, Iowa. I convinced my grandpa to brave -10 wind chill weather to try ice fishing for the first time. We tried waxworms and managed one bluegill. Despite the one fish, and the -10 degree weather, and the wind, and the blowing snow, and the lack of a shelter, it was still a lot of fun and was a great way to start of the new year with my dad and grandpa.
I got to use my sonar quite a bit, and it's pretty cool. I have a Lowrance x67C ice machine package from Cabela's. Sweet machine.
I hope you all have a happy new year filled with big fish!
