Lake: Dixon Reservoir

Dixon res Being Drained?

Post By: Cichlidfish      Posted: 9/26/2016 2:30:34 PM     Points: 4029
Dixon is now extremely low, and the deepest water I could find was about 2 feet. Fish have almost certainly started dying at the level its at now. I had talked to some fort collins workers that said they will be doing construction on the lake???? Does anyone know more about this?

I am quite concerned with this as well, as it is my after class fishing spot.

I'm starting to suspect that this is the case, because all the other ponds in town are completely full.

any pictures of this? anyone know if they are maybe just draining it a bit to do some work on the dam or dredge out the south end a bit?

Ya, its being drained. So shallow now that the grass carps backs are sticking out of the water.

I know of another lake being lowered for inlet repair and there's now a no limit notice on all the fish. I spoke with the guy placing the sign at the lake last week and he wasn't sure how low the water level will get. I wonder why they didn't do the same at Dixon? Better than waste of game and too many rotting corpses.
