Sunfish Pelapalooza

I really needed a Mason Fix. I hadn't fished with my grandson since June. He chose one of his favorite ponds, there are some big bass and some big greenies there that pull like bass. We got there about ten and mostly caught small sunfish for the first hour. We saw some good lmb cruising but they ignored our jigs. We found some steeper drop offs and caught a nine incher, he had a baby crawdad in his mouth. We matched the hatch with a 2" plastic craw on 1/32 jig head and started the hauling. About every third fish was 8" or better, with about a dozen over 9" between Mason, Dave and I, keeping half our total limit to fillet. Nice peaceful Labor Day with Mason and Dave. If you know this pond West Slopers, please don't blow it up on here as they are pretty rare on public water here.

Great catch Jerry. Don't see a lot of nice sunfish/bluegils like that around here. Now to get over for the perch!
