Want to get a shot at the trout of a lifetime?

It's just about that magical time in the valley! Salmon are starting up, and being caught in ok numbers, and some bigger trout are starting to react to big flashy streamers. Floating has proven very successful in the past few days, especially during morning or dusk. Cloudy days mean big streamers and dry flies, blaring sun is going to result in prayers and nymphing until it cools off a bit and the tourism slows down.

Now, in relation to this post, I'm currently in possession of a drift boat, and for the fall season I'm extending the offer to fellow Fxr members to come down and float with me, gratis. I do work as a guide, but this will not be a commercial trip, just a favor that both gives me experience and training. It would be very ideal if you had experience rowing so that maybe we could switch from time to time, but it isn't necessary. I really just would like to build my experience fishing with some different people, and hopefully see some massive fish. I do ask that we only fish with flies off the boat (no offense spin guys) If you're interested, drop a comment and we'll try to set something up!!

I'd love to, but with work and kids I have no idea when I could get down there. Hopefully we can keep this up near the top and a few guys at least take advantage of this great opportunity!

I don't fly fish but definitely awesome of you to put out an open invitation to our fishing community! Hope you find some to take you up and catch some big ones!

Hey man - Sounds like fun.

I'm not much experience rowing, but I was a competitive rock climber among other things, and I am still relatively fit. I imagine I'm pretty trainable and can keep up a row for about as much as anybody who isn't particularly experienced at it.

If you don't find particularly what you are looking for, and 'fall season' includes Oct. Look me up and maybe I can head down that way & join. I'm not a terribly accomplished fly fisherman, but I've got basic equipment that works and I can more or less use it. Can pick up stuff in addition to what I have if needed.

I can be contacted from my skipper link.

Just saw the post and was thinking about heading up that way after work today (from Durango). I was going to wade fish the area tomorrow 9/17, unless you wanna float? I can fly fish, I can row, and I could return the favor for a float down on the Animas, Rio Grand, or elsewhere in the future.

Fishscale, if I weren't in denver for the weekend, i'd be all about doing a float, as it's gorgeous and the river is flush with salmon. Unfortunately, I'm stuck on the front range until sunday... If you find yourself up again, drop a line on this thread, I have your number saved as well!
