Took my two year old for a walk around the pond today. He kept saying fishing pole dada fishing pole. Took it as a sign and went back at about 8:30. Fished until 11 with some big bites. Figured they were carp. One popped my line. As I'm packing up my pole snaps down and after a few minutes and a couple decent runs pulled this guy out. Not bad for the middle of the city.

Yes you might want to check the regulations for city lakes as to times. I was chased off a few city lakes for fishing after dark. They're usually 1/2 hour before sun raise to 1/2 hour after sunset. Other than that....nice cat!

Congratulations on a very nice fish. While you are in your rights to take the fish home please think about putting fish of that size back so they can repopulate. Don't get me wrong I've been known to keep a few cats for table fair but only ones under around 10# anything else goes back in the water after a few pics. OMG i'm starting to sound like one of those people LOL. Again very nice fish.
Congrats on the catch, especially for that place! I could be wrong but I think the park is open until 11. My buddy and I have night fished there before and caught some small carp and cats. Have seen city workers there but have yet to be chased off there at night.
Being the Lake Skipper, The park does close at 9 Pm, good catch by the way. I have talk to a lot of Ranger/ Officers around the lake and they all have been very nice. Just remember you are able to come and go as you please but no late night fishing.
