According to the lodge at the lake, Echo Lake is 1/2 open water.

Watch the CPW stocking reports and then wait a couple weeks. They grow pretty quick in there but usually there's a lot of winterkill

Who knowa guys maybe there's a few survivors but if it's shallow I don't see it. We should hit it up Nate and Curtis sometimes towards the end of may.

You know me, I'm down to fish whenever I can. That's not far from one of my other favorite spots either, maybe make it a 2 lake day

I like the sound of a 2 lake trip, can't ever get enough water and fishing so I'm down with that.

Curtis, I got the message will respond here shortly, just responding to all the threads I have been wanting to post in.

Update: Messaged you back Bron

The lake had a complete winter kill last year and the first stocking was in the first week in June. I don't know what the schedule is but that seems to be the pattern for most years. It only takes a couple of weeks for the fish to start feeding on the natural food and grow at a good pace, some reaching a pound and a half in the fall. Lots of weeds all year long makes it a challenge with a fly and bubble probably being the most effective method.
They no longer allow parking along the lake so get there early to find a parking spot at the designated lot at the west end of the lake. This could be a problem during the weekends in the summer.

I won't visit Evans at all on the weekends anymore. Too crowded.

Thanks for the tip too old, I will definitely be leaving early to arrive there, that is not a problem for me.
